get your PkGOLD or KaGOLD running from the desktop:
The fastest way is to use the "My Computer" applet,

Here is an alternate "Step-By-Step" approach:

- Select New, then Shortcut
- Type in the drive, path, and program name, e.g.
C:\KAGOLD\KAGOLD.EXE or C:\PKGOLD\PKGOLD.EXE
then push Next>
- Click on Finish then OK
In a few seconds, the program is available on your desktop.
Setting Program Properties
To allow Multitasking a DOS app,
in a resizable Window that will
Close on Exit, change
the program properties as follows:

mouse button, click the Pk or Ka GOLD item
- Select Properties (the last choice)
- Select the Program tab
and Check the Close on exit box
- Select Change Icon button
and for File Name: type in
C:\KAGOLD\KAGOLD.ICO or C:\PKGOLD\PKGOLD.ICO
or use Browse to look for other icons
- Select the Screen tab
Choose Window instead of Full-Screen
Be sure to check ALL the items below (especially Display Toolbar)
- Next, select the Misc tab
Un-Check the Always suspend box if checked
Un-Check BOTH of the Mouse boxes
Check all boxes under Window and Performance settings
- Select the Font tab
Choose Both font types
For Font size Scroll up to Auto
- Choose OK to close the properties dialog box.
Your program will now multitask -- run in the background
or foreground, allow you to change settings using the toolbar,
select text from the screen, paste text into
the keyboard buffer
