KaGOLD and PkGOLD were the first programs to support all of the
popular callsign datasets including Buckmaster, SAM, The Radio
Amateur Callbook, QRZ, AMSOFT.
If you have not used a callsign lookup dataset, you are in for a treat.
Everything is automatic, easy, and fun. Here are some of the things
KaGOLD and PkGOLD do to make it work for you.
- Callsign Lookup is Automatic -- all you do is run the GOLD software,
and as stations connect, you see the name and QTH immediately.
- Callsign Server -- Let others access the data on your CD, all they
do is type //call followed by a callsign, and your station sends the data.
They can even ask for several callsigns.
- You can include callsign data in your messages -- if you compose
a BBS message, at a local BBS or your own Personal BBS (maildrop) simply
type sendcall followed by a callsign (or several) and push [F10].
- Friendly Greeting -- Setup a BRG (brag) file or connect message
with reference to the operator's name, and you can greet everyone with
a personalized message -- e.g. "Hello Jeff, be with you in a minute..."
- Use while operating Voice -- Just type [Alt-I] for "information"
then enter a call, either U.S. or International, and GOLD will lookup
the data and present it on the screen
Note: To access The Callbook(tm) requires a version of PkGOLD or KaGOLD
shipped after December 1995. It also requires a TSR (terminate and stay
resident) program. Updates from earlier version 9.xx programs are available
by calling our order line (see below).
Starting with The Summer Edition of the 1996 Callbook(tm) you must
run the newer TSR (cbtsr.exe available below). This newer TSR
will also access the first of the Callbook CDs too. Just replace
your current CBTSR.EXE or DOSLOGAC.EXE with the CBTSR.EXE program
and continue having fun !!
